Toți jucătorii primesc aceleași 4 cărți Kotakote, care prezintă pe o parte forme geometrice de culori diferite, iar pe cealaltă parte imagini neterminate. O carte de „provocare” este întoarsă cu fața în sus în centrul mesei.
Jucătorii trebuie să încerce simultan să reproducă imaginea de pe cartea de provocare, aliniind corect două dintre cărțile lor Kotakote. Este important de reținut că doar cărțile necesare pentru a rezolva provocarea pot fi puse pe masă; celelalte trebuie păstrate în mână.
Cel mai rapid jucător câștigă cartea de „provocare”, pe care trebuie să o păstreze până la sfârșitul jocului. Primul jucător care adună 5 cărți de provocare câștigă jocul.
